| Other solutions to improve the environment in the
workplace.
1. Try and use as much
natural material as possible such as wood, cork, clay, brick, coconut
fibre, cotton, animal hair (carpet squares) etc. There should be as low a
'fleece factor' as possible: ratio of synthetic material to total volume.
Wood should be polished with bees wax not silicon or cellulose based
polish which converts wood into a plastic surface.
2. Wear as much natural
fabric as possible, such as cotton, linen, wool or silk so your bigger
organ - your skin - can breathe and prevent static from the movement of
synthetic material.
3. Ensure as much fresh air
gets into a building without causing a draught and low temperature. The
humidity should ideally be between 40% - 50% so as not to lose too many
negative ions. If there is a problem install a humidifier with automatic
humidity control.
4. Install an electronic
filtering unit in each room to filter out airborne particles, smoke,
bacteria and viruses in the atmosphere to reduce respiratory and other
infections.
5. Surround yourself with
growing green plants. Thriving plants provide two important benefits.
Firstly they show that they are living well in an ion enhanced atmosphere
especially if they have a marked increase in size and growth rate.
Secondly they tend to gather negative ions around themselves. This is
particularly true of evergreens and ferns, which focus negative electrical
charges on the pointed tip of their leaves.
6. The body absorbs light
energy as a form of nourishment, but normal fluorescent lighting does not
possess the combination of wavelengths or colour found in natural sunlight
and should be changed out for Full Spectrum fluorescent lighting tubes
such as True-LightŪ by Full Spectrum Lighting Ltd., 19 Lincoln Road,
Cressex Business Park, High Wycombe, HP11 2LT. Tel. 01494 452
6051.
7. Excessive noise in the
work place can cause a lot of problems. Often noise can be reduced very
easily. Send for free booklet 'Industry Quiet Please....at low
cost'.
Employers: When you
next feel you and your staff arc getting stressful and do not seem able to
cope with the work at hand then consider that it may be the office's or
the factory's environment which is wrong and that for an average week's
wages or less you could put this right, by installing a RadiTech, making
you and your staff feel so much better and drastically reduce
absenteeism.
Employees: Next time
you feel your job and colleagues are getting on your nerves and you feel
like changing your job - which you otherwise like - ask your boss to read
this article.
In the mean time try and
sneak open that window now and again (if it can be opened!) and get some
fresh air during your lunch break. If you work on a VDU take breaks at
regular intervals (remember the VDU can be switched off when not used!).
Blink often and exercise your eyes.
If your employer refuses to
install a RadiTech, a small portable RadiTech (1 Ox5x 13 cm.) will
neutralise the area you sit or stand in (Installed in or on your
desk).
